YAG Procedure

Because your vision deserves nothing but the best.

WHAT IS PCO?

Following cataract surgery and the implantation of a clear artificial lens, the back side of the capsule gets opague, making it thicker, as cells left after cataract surgery grow over the rear of the capsule.

A posterior capsule opacity is a hazy membrane that may occur following cataract surgery.

This opacity makes it look that your cataracts have appeared again. This is because when the surface gets more opaque, less light can pass through to your eyes.

PCO can occur anytime  after cataract surgery in 10-20% of persons, from a few weeks to months later.

The frosted layer is identical to the frosting on a window, and it can impede visibility through both the window and the new lens.

WHAT IS YAG CAPSULOTOMY?

YAG capsulotomy is a quick, painless procedure used to treat posterior capsular opacification (PCO). PCO occurs when the lens capsule behind the artificial lens becomes cloudy, causing blurred vision, glare, and difficulty seeing clearly.

Using a specialised equipment, a small opening is created in the cloudy capsule to allow light to pass through, restoring sharp vision. The procedure takes only 5–10 minutes, requires no incisions, and has minimal recovery time.

PCO can occur months or years after cataract surgery, causing cloudy vision as the natural lens capsule becomes hazy.

YAG capsulotomy is highly effective, safe, and helps patients regain clear vision almost immediately
