1

Cataract Surgery

A cataract is a progressive, painless clouding of the natural lens of the eye, located below the iris and pupil. Cataract causes when proteins in the eye clump together which masks the vision with a fuzzy outline.  Cataract surgery is one of the most often performed surgery at NHS procedure. Once diagnosed, the primary treatment option is cataract surgery. Fear not, cataract removal is a quick, painless treatment that can be done as a day case.

2

Lens Replacement Surgery

Refractive errors are corrected by lens replacement surgery, often referred to as refractive lens exchange (RLE) or clear lens extraction (CLE). This treatment removes the natural, non-cataractous lens and replaces it with a synthetic intraocular lens (IOL). Astigmatism, myopia, hyperopia, presbyopia, cataracts, and other visual problems are often treated with this method.

YAG Surgery

Over time, some patients develop a cloudy or hazy appearance on the posterior (back) part of the lens capsule. This can lead to vision problems similar to those caused by cataracts, such as blurred vision, glare, or difficulty seeing at night.

YAG capsulotomy is a medical procedure that treats a problem known as posterior capsule opacification, which can develop following cataract surgery. It is safe, quick, non-invasive and commonly performed with minimal risks & short healing period.
